Argo SRV concept sale

Back again to introduce a new concept sale for star citizen 2019. It's hasa been a long time since I last posted anything star citizen related.

So let's jump in to the latest concept sale.

Note: all opinions and thoughts are based on the immediate info in RSI website, I will try to reduce speculation if not avoid speculating

The Argo SRV

Currently introduce as a tug boat in space! Also not only that, it could carry cargo like a container truck or carrying container to the fill out the bigger hull series.

To me it's good news as it introduce another civilian ship! The SRV is a single seat ship with a 10 SCU cargo. Bolster with a 180° view and some tough armour and combat shields. Immediately putting the role of combat "ship" retriever. The question is how tough is this little tug boat.

Buy introducing this ship also comes with the long waited tractor beam mechanic as this ship is heavily relying on that to actually perform its intended role. And that is much more interesting as some ships are waiting for more of these smaller function to be fully operational.

Now moving on to the price. At 130 USD warbond / 150 USD SRP this ship is in the same category as other specialised single seater ship like prospector and the vulture. Also it comes with a VFG hangar.

Sadly I cannot do any comparison as there are none, which on hind sight maybe a good thing. Now of we talk about value the gold standard is the cutlass black at 100 USD of the same size. But the SRV is categorised as small so, it's even better!  So roughly 50 USD more for a specialised ship like the prospector and the vulture. And currently there are no bed in the info but in return you get a few more passenger seats with a table and a full bathroom. So 130/150 USD might be a great deal for a specialised ship with some cargo.

Next up is the packaged deal you get from this concept sale, the first :

ARGO Utility pack

200 USD warbond and 225 USD SRP
Including the SRV MPUV cargo(35 USD) and personal(40 USD). A total of value of 75 USD and a discount of 5 USD.

So only saving you 5 USD is nothing much but having 2 "cheaper LTI ships for future upgrades is always a good sight. Personally this is a great pack to pick up IF only you want/have other more expansive ship that needed the elusive LTI perk.

And lastly the

Tow Team pack

495 USD warbond and 575 USD SRP
With 4 SRV ( 520 USD warbond / 600 USD ) saving you 25 USD.

Judging from this package it indicates that there are possibilities that bigger ships need more then 1 SRV to tow. Hinting from their art work 2 was pictured towing a constellation Andromeda.

This pack I would avoid as it's not as flexible as the utility pack if used as a base LTI for ship upgrade and putting out 495 USD is 4 tow boat is a bit too much for me.

In conclusion, this is a specialised ship way more niche then the prospector as currently there is no towing mission that pays. But at least you can do some cargo run. I would recommend as it has a secondary role as a cargo ship. And anything related to a more industrial and civilian ship always get a bonus vote from me
