Gems, Promo and Hero, an injustice 2 mobile quick guide

So the common question on injustice 2 mobile, How do I spend my gems?

First tip would be get your roster up to a decent size. Preferably a range of 3* - 1* around 1 for each class of hero. Of course it would be nice to have some gold tier hero in the begining.

So first priority is to buy them hero chest. With the new update, you should purchase the first 10 from the hero chest as they will drop more shards (silver) and a (pity/guarantee) gold at the 10th chest.

Next up is to spend on operation till lv11, why? That's where you will start gem farming as lv11 will unlock 5% chance to drop gems.

After that you have a choice to continue levelling up operation till lv20, or buy some more chest. This time premium chest, as you want more quality over quantity and possible a higher star pull for the specific character. Either choices you should be able to progress a little further.

My progress is

Ops to 11
Spam chest for another gold
Ops to 16
Spam chest for another gold
Ops to 20

Note : unbreakable cyborg , emerald green lantern and Atlantian Armour Aquaman can be farm early in the campaign. I highly suggest don't buy premium chest for them as they will drop a 2* gold.

So now you have a decent size roster, along with a max operation. You will stumble upon some hero promo on the way.

Note: you can promote heroes via gem once per criteria per week.

A general argument in forums that most hero upgrade is worth it until 4* which I also agree.

Reason is that at 900 gems for a 4* gold promo, you can have 3 premium hero chest to crack, and there is a chance for a 4* hero as well. But because 3 chest does not guarantee a hero, spending on promo is viable. At 2700 for 5* hero promo and 4500 for akbm promo, the cost of chance, hero stats and shard cost, quantity is better here so opening chest and expanding roster or upgrading ops if you haven't max it, is recommended.

But there is an exception.

Arena character holds the highest priority for gem promo as arena medals can be only obtain through the grinding in arena every week ( the only way to bypass the time gate is by gem ) predator batman should be your primary target follow by horrific scarecrow ( only need 4* )

Next is promo character, so far there are 3. Amazon wonder women, mythic wonder women and aquaman. After the event, there are high chance they won't be available. Spending gems here is the only way to promote them.

Paid character, movie superman and Harley quin. Also no other way to promote them other then gems.

Achievement character, Armored Superman, this is in a mix bag as he is not top tier hero, but to 5* him now without gem is impossible.

Challenge hero, Chest hero, and campaign hero, highly not recommended to 5* them by gem promo as they have better ways to obtain them.

Lastly, your most played and favourite hero. It's nice to see them at 5*.

Personally I am planing to focus on only 1 hero for 5* for each hero class, the question now is who? Because collecting a total of 3600 gems ( by gem promo ) roughly takes me 3 weeks on average with an arena grind
